Mike and Laura’s Kitchen
In the picturesque neighborhood of Dublin, Ohio, Mike and Laura’s family home stood waiting for a transformation. Their kitchen, once a closed-off space with limited functionality, was about to undergo a complete remodel by our dedicated team at Brian Miller Custom Remodeling. Our goal? Breaking Down Walls
Our first step in this transformation was to remove a non-load-bearing wall and extensive soffits. This decision instantly opened up the space, creating a seamless flow between the kitchen and the former formal dining room. The homeowners also made the strategic choice to replace the window in the dining room, allowing us to extend the lower cabinets under the window for additional storage and a streamlined look.
Rerouting and Lighting
With the wall and soffits removed, we faced the challenge of rerouting several plumbing drain lines. Our team handled this task with precision, ensuring the new layout would function seamlessly. We also added new lighting throughout the entire kitchen area, creating a bright, welcoming space that the DiFillippo family could enjoy at any time of day.
Finishing Touches
The remodel included the installation of new natural oak flooring throughout the first floor, adding warmth and continuity to the home. The custom built cabinetry was crafted by a long time collaborator with BMCR, Troyer and Troyer Custom Cabinetry. The countertops, provided by Granite Direct, were extended into the window sill area, creating a seamless look that added to the kitchen's aesthetic appeal.

The transformation of the kitchen was a testament to the power of thoughtful design and skilled craftsmanship. The result was a stunning, functional space that the family could enjoy for years to come. But the story didn't end there.
