The Bruhn Kitchen

When long time clients the Bruhns contacted BMCR with a vision for a new kitchen in their Grandview, OH, home, we jumped at the opportunity. After discussing the plan, the Bruhns began the always exciting selection process. After meeting with trusted partners Troyer and Troyer Custom Cabinets and Granite Direct, all the parts began to coalesce and we agreed on a start date.

There were two main components of this project that were critical to the Bruhn’s vision: Removing a non load bearing wall that divided the old kitchen from a formal dining room, and adding a half bath, since there was no bath at all on the main floor of the house. After careful measuring and layout in cooperation with Troyer and Troyer, we were able to build a new half bath with pocket door and still leave plenty of room around the brand new island. The new white cabinetry and leathered countertops all fell into place smoothly. All new lighting, appliances, and a custom corner seat were installed, as well as a stunning live edge table built by long time friend of BMCR, A Carpenter’s Son. A tile backsplash for our friends at The Tile Shop was a fitting final piece to the puzzle.

In addition, BMCR installed new luxury plank vinyl flooring in the entire first floor. Granite Direct used the same material from the dramatic island top to create a new surround for the living room fireplace. The custom built vent hood above the range, the drawer style microwave, dimmable LED under cabinet lighting, and tons of custom storage components in the cabinetry are what really set this kitchen apart. The Bruhns have graduated from just being clients to dear friends, and we relished the opportunity to deliver the goods for these amazing folks.
